You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Latitude49 has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

Each resident at Latitude49 pays a flat rate that includes:

The spacious accommodations at Latitude49 include 2 and 4 bedroom apartments, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident.

Latitude49 offers a furniture package which includes a full-size bed, desk and chair, nightstand, and dresser drawers in each bedroom and a sofa, chair, coffee table, entertainment stand, dining table and dining chairs in the living room and kitchen. The standard term is August 14, 2024 to July 22, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Latitude49 also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Your living costs at Latitude49 can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Latitude49. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Latitude49 is designed and offered for students at UNC Charlotte or other local colleges and universities The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Therefore, applications are accepted only from students at one of these local colleges or universities. Latitude49 is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes student residents/families with children. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

Latitude49 has a monitored fire-sprinkler system, along with individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

Latitude49 is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Latitude49 offers free on-site parking for residents.

Latitude49 provides shuttle bus service that picks up right in front of the community and runs to campus, weekdays between 7:30am and 5pm, every 45 minutes during Fall and Spring semesters when class is in session.
